Dressing like an adult every day can be hard…
Don’t know what to wear to work tomorrow?
In photography, a neutral-density filter reduces or modifies the intensity of colors. It gives you a large degree of control over certain aspects of your picture. If this principle is applied to your wardrobe, you have a similar amount of control over your whole wardrobe. What are the benefits to keeping a neutral wardrobe? Here are just 3 of many:
- Everything matches. Think of the color combinations: Navy with grey, white, khaki, black – they all look good together, no matter what combination you try. You can spend less time worrying about what matches and more time on the important things in life…like coffee.
- You can mix and match so much that you can wear the pieces without anyone being the wiser. If you wear a piece of clothing that is loud or noticeable, it will need to take a break. A neutral piece however can be remixed into your wardrobe without anyone noticing.
- Never look ‘boring’. You can invest in trendier and brighter pieces like scarves and jewelry. A simple few colorful items can brighten up a wardrobe for every season. Pastels for spring, bright for summer an rich autumn colors warm up fall.
As a court reporter, attorney, paralegal or legal assistant, you can always be well-dressed and in style without spending tons of money on many different pieces, and more money on the important things…like coffee 😉
