Legal Videography – Why the Dramatic Uptick?

Legal Videography – Why the Dramatic Uptick?

In today’s visual-rich world, a video is much more likely to give your case a win.  Legal videography is a highly used tool by litigators because they know the value of the impact of visual testimony over simple printed testimony.  Both in and out of the courtroom, legal video product is a valuable tool of reference.  Maybe you can’t decide whether or not to use this particular witness in court.  Perhaps you can use it to see where a particular client can dress or behave more appropriately.  Another way that the tool of video is used is to preserve the testimony of someone who is gravely ill, they may pass away before trial or become too sick to testify when the time comes.  Some attorneys use video to preserve the testimony of someone who flees or otherwise cannot testify in a court of law.  If you have to take down the testimony of an expert witness, juries respond better and pay better attention to a video rather than a boring reading back of their testimony. Not only that, but by utilizing video, you can save both time and money.

Lift your case off of the paper and bring it to life by capturing not just the words.  Use legal video to capture the facial expressions, tone of voice, mannerisms and other human traits that cannot be gotten from paper transcripts.  The expression, “it’s not what you say but how you say it” has been around for a long time, and for good reason.  A person sitting on a jury can easily read what the answer “really” is or might be by watching a witness react live on camera.  That is a priceless factor in your case.  If you do not have a videographer on your deposition, the chance to catch that opportunity will be gone and you can never get it back.
