Todd Wayne Boyes is a 44 year old man who has a history of carjacking people at gunpoint in Ohio.  A spokesperson for the West Virginia State Police states that after another carjacking and dangerous car chase in February of 2016, Boyes used a vehicle to hit a Charleston police officer’s vehicle.  That officer was subsequently injured and Boyes was arrested.

According to CNN, Todd Wayne Boyes acquired a pair of khaki pants and a dark jacket, thus able to disguise himself and walk out of the prison.  He was taken back into custody in Laredo, Texas.  He was trying to cross the Rio Grande into Mexico.

Official court reporters cover these kinds of cases in the courtroom.  They are called official court reporters.  In civil litigation cases (which can easily come out of criminal cases) the record is kept by freelance court reporters. Here at Cady Reporting in Cleveland, Ohio, we employ local freelance court reporters.  Our court reporters don’t go into the courtroom to create transcripts for criminal cases, but they take depositions in civil litigation lawsuits.  Just a few of these include medical malpractice, patent infringement, personal injury and more.
