June 21, 2018 (TODAY!) is officially the first day of summer.  Sunscreen, pool time and long beautiful days are what most people focus on.  But Cleveland and the entire state of Ohio offer some wonderful and unique adventures! Check out a few of them below, and stay tuned as Cady Reporting brings you more fun stuff!

Here in Cleveland, we have a beautiful and unique landmark. Can you guess what it is? Lake Erie of course!  Edgewater Park is a wonderful place in Cleveland to visit. While there you and your family can get a wonderful view of the Cleveland skyline over the lake. Taking in a sunset here is also marvelous. Try a picnic, some frisbee or catch or check out the activities they have going on.  Either way, when you include Edgewater Park in your Cleveland wheelhouse of events, you’ll make it a great summer!

Lakeview Cemetary might sound like an odd choice, but you may want to reconsider.  Lakeview Cemetary is actually a historic landmark in Cleveland, Ohio.  Many famous people are buried here, most from ages ago. There are over 285 acres of diverse plant life, with a very accessible and walkable path through the cemetery. If you are interested in a tour, you can find out more about taking one here.  They host a lot of events that are open to the public also! Some are free, some a paid (most are not prohibitively expensive) but all look very interesting. I personally love the free music nights. Check out all of the events here!

Maybe you’re really a mermaid…get to the water!  There are several places to rent SUP (stand up paddleboard) equipment.  No lessons? Those are available also. Here is one place to get boards, lessons and even SUP yoga and sunset paddles! Give it a try (or two, because it takes a minute to get the hang of it.) 🙂

Have fun and be safe this summer! Stay tuned for more fun stuff to do in Cleveland, Ohio.
