In order to work as a court reporter in the United States, all professionals must be certified by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) at a bare minimum. These professionals will:

From that point, court reporters can choose to take on a number of other certifications– from Registered Professional Reporting Certification to Certified Realtime Reporting Certification.
