What makes realtime reporting different from other forms of court reporting? It’s in the name: the transcripts translated from phonetics to “real English” and produced in realtime. Where most court reporters go back and edit their transcript post-deposition and deliver it to the clients, realtime reporters have the challenge of reporting at a higher level of accuracy in order to produce an transcript in “real English” that corresponds with the phonetics the first time.
Realtime reporting allows…
- The transcript to synced to a device and displayed over a monitor in realtime for the judge and/or attorneys to see (great for the hearing impaired!)
- Attorneys/judges to easily search key words and phrases in the document without having to pause proceedings and ask the reporter (easier summarization process)
- The transcript to be immediately available via email/printing following the end of the legal proceedings.
